Bertram Walters was born in 1898 at Jacksdale son of James Walters born Sedgley, Staffs, a general labourer and his wife Mary Ann (nee Picken). In 1911 the family was living at Sedgwick Street, Jacksdale. Bertram had elder brothers and sisters James Richard, Annie and Harriett May. A further child had been born but had not survived.
No military information has been found.
In 1932 Bertram married Eliza Nuttall and they had children Wilfred, James and Ann.
