Jacksdale Bowls Club was formed in 1982 and meets at the Somerlea Park Centre, Sherwood Street, Leabrooks, Alfreton DE55 1LB. New players are very welcome, whether they be young or old, experienced or have never bowled before. We have youth training sessions for the ‘young uns’, an annual presentation evening and a summer gala day and also play in many local leagues. Visit our website to find out more.

Bowls Club News April 2013:-
Well another bowling summer season has started our green opened last week 5th April 2013.
Before this was the A.G.M It was with regret after many long years of service that Mr Alan Cockayne our chairman had to resign due to ill health. Before resigning he did mention that it was Jacksdale Bowls Clubs anniversary the Bowls Club had been going for 30years.
All members thanked Alan for the wonderful job he had done and hopefully we would all keep in touch as his wife Hazel plays bowls this would not be difficult.
The secretary and members welcomed the new chairman Mr John Jackson.
If any of you out there would like to try your hand at bowls please contact us, we have training sessions on a Saturday morning from 10 00 to 12 00 if this is not suitable for you some thing can be arranged, if you just want to learn and do not want to join the team no problem. All you require are flat shoes to start with.
In June it’s our Gala Day(date to be announced soon) come and pay us a visit at our green Somerlea Park Center Sherwood St Leabrooks there will be food (small charge) Raffle and some great bowling, plus you can look around the center and see what other sports and Activities are on offer.
