'Jacksdale's Monumental Man of Stone'

By J.B. Calladine

Bring back that man of stone I say,

And bring him back today.

Bring back that man of stone for Britain's sake

and let US have OUR SAY (E.U.)

In life he stood - defend our shores,

Retreat and hide ? - No way!

He represents our heritage,

Our hopes and life,  OUR WAY.

Re-charge his magazine and bayonet fix

For greater task to come,

Defend our way of life again,

Our islands in the sun.

He's Jacksdale's son,

Great Britain's man

So put him back this day.

Ask any name, they'd all reply:-

"He's one of us, our mate,

So raise him back - up front with us,

Not hidden out of sight"

He fought for all, he won Great War,

In Flanders, Somme and rest,

Now's our turn to fight for him,

And Damn the Vandals' best,

Ye Gods, they were not 'Twin-Tower Terrorists.

That Soldier 'minds us, one and all,

We'd sooner fight than lose our All,

Up-stand that Monumental Man of Stone,

With him we'll all stand up.
