EDWARD ERNEST OLDHAM |
Gunner 222556
50th Div. Ammunition Col., Royal Artillery.
Died Monday 14th October. 1918 aged 22.
Grave ref. 379 Sedan( St. Charles) Communal Cemetery Ardennes France

We are not entirely sure of Edward Oldham's town or village of birth, but we do know that his wife, Harriett Evelyn Oldham lived at Selston Lane, Jacksdale.
His parents, Joseph and Harriett Evelyn Oldham resided at Dixie Street, Jacksdale although the 'Soldiers Who Died in the Great War' CD-ROM states that his place of residence was Bulwell, Nottingham.
We know very little about his service history, or the circumstances of his death, as records merely state that he 'died' on Monday 14th October 1918, aged 22 years. This may indicate that he actually died from an illness. The Soldiers Died CD states that he also served with The Royal Horse Artillery.
He is buried at the Sedan (St Charles) Communal Cemetery, Ardennes, France along with 49 other casualties of the Great War.
We have been unable to trace any living relatives and would welcome any information.
