TR DEUXBERRY Hardware & Ironmongery,
Enfield, Essex
Were they
related to the DEUXBERRY Family of Jacksdale ?
Mike Deuxberry, who now lives in Australia is
researching his family tree and is interested in ANY connections to the
DEUXBERRY family. He sent us the following emails:-
"Noticed your web page and the reference to Carl Deuxberry.
I am not sure if I can help as there seems to be two strains of the family
,one on my side and the other which is a bit allusive . The 1901 census has 21
Deuxberrys in the UK and then they nearly all seem to have disappeared . The
only one I know of to have died in the 1st WW is my grandfather Cyril who had
emigrated to Canada and fought for the Ontario Regiment in France .
"My great, great grandfather was Peter Deuxberry aged 81
in the 1901 census and my great grandfather and grandmother were Thomas and
Annie both aged 42 in that census. The offspring of Thomas and Annie are
spread from Canada (where they emigrated) the UK, New Zealand and
us in Australia. 7 of the 24 Deuxberrys in the 1901 census are known
relations and I am sure the others are although we have not tied in the
connection as yet. If anybody has any information on Carl Deuxberry before
or after the war this would be appreciated. Interestingly both my
grandfather Cyril and Carl were 12 in 1901 so could even have been cousins.
You mention a shop - I have a poor copy of a photo of the front of a shop
with TR Deuxberry Hardware & Ironmongery above the doorway which I
obtained from my Canadian relatives. Their writing on the photo says
'Reginald Deuxberry' Enfield , England . I know this may not
relate to Carl but somebody might see a connection , not so easy from
this side of the world. I was actually born in Sheffield in 47, but brought
up in Bath , then emigrated to Canada and then down to Australia.
Any info you have may help the search from this end."

The Jacksdale Memorial lists a Carl Deuxberry who served during
WW1. We know the family lived at Laverick Road, Jacksdale and the 1901
Census lists them as follows:-

The local Deuxberry Family's shop was in Ironville,
